It’s Wednesday! Field trip day! Okay, I’ll admit..while I know my students will have a BLAST, I know this day will leave me DRAINED! (Not to mention nauseous. As I’ve grown, bus rides are no longer my friends.)
Knowing that I will have no desire to do anything but lay on the couch once the day ends, I am up early today to get in a sweat session before work. Whatever it takes to get my daily sweat in!
So – I haven’t been the the What I Ate Wednesday party in quite some time. Jenn has still be hard at work putting it together week after week – but I’ve just been really bad at photographiny my food.

This week, however, I’ve been trying out some new snacks and new drinks and thought i’d join the party again to let you know just how wonderful these new finds are! (Not to mention, you have an opportunity to win yourself a Slow Cooker courtesy of Slimkicker at the ends of this post!
First up we have some Edamame Crackers from Trader Joe’s!

These are a perfectly crunchy snack! The base of the cracker is definitely similar to their savory things – but you can surely taste edamame flavor in the crackers! If I am not careful, I could probably down half a bag of these in one sitting. (Because of their taste and my occasional mindless eating!!)
While I have seen these Snappea Crisps many times before in the blog world, I finally purchased them for myself this week:

What have I been waiting for? These are awesome! I really like the texture and the veggie flavor. They will be making a regular appearance in my cabinet from now on, for sure! (Go try these
)
And when I’ve had enough savory and am in need of something sweet (and chocolatey…) I’ve been reaching for these amazing bars:

I stumbled upon these by accident one day. I love Clif Z Bars.. and Enviro Kids happened to be right next to the Clif Z Bars.. AND on sale one week. I decided to give them a go – they looked great and have some decent nutritional stats (comparable to Clif Z Bars.. but less sugar!). I am SO happy I gave these a try! The Chocolate Crispy Rice bars and phenomenal and they can surely calm my sweet tooth!
I’ve also been enjoying my Snickerdoodle Muffins - and so have my students!

After reading about the potential benefits of carrot Juice on Lindsay’s Blog, I decided to give it a go and picked up a small bottle at Trader Joe’s.

After discovering the massive amounts of ulcers that line my stomach, I read that carrot juice and aid in the healing process. Over the past couple of months, I have reason to believe that my ulcers are not healing like I would have hoped. I have unsucessfully tried to decrease my medication – but was unable to due to the return of burning pains in my stomach. So now – it is time to give carrot juice a try.
I won’t lie – it is certianly a little sweet for my liking. There is no added sugar, but carrots are a sweeter veggie.. so I try and have a couple of sips a day. I have no idea if this is enough to actually benefit my stomach, but I will give it a go!
And finally – another NEW product! YZ (pronounced Wise) All Natural Hydravescent Drink Mix! I was provided a free sample of all three flavors – and so far have sampled their Lemon Ginger Flavor (for digestive health.. I am pretty predictable).

There is a different taste to this drink mix because there are actually bubbles when you mix it up! I do like it a lot – but will do a FULL review after I have tried all of the flavors.
I’ve definitely have my share of new foods and drinks this week! What about you?!

Where did you go on your field trip? It is always SO busy when you go places with lots of kids but they always have a blast. I love both carrot juice and snapper peas. They are delicious dipped in nut butter. I’m a big veg + nut butter gal.
What a great idea I’m going to have to check out slimkicker….a healthy living challenge I would totally get behind would be a mindful eating challenge. This would entail not eating in front of the screen, not eating standing, and serving yourself a real serving instead of eating out of a bag. I would get on board!

I love those edamame crackers!
What a fun giveaway – I’d love to have a crockpot. Everyone has been featuring crockpot recipes lately! A healthy change I need to make it the sleep thing. I am so bad about getting into bed before 1am.

I think a good challenge would be to practice yoga or meditation for at least 10 minutes a day – that’s my current personal challenge.

I love snappea crisps!

I think a good challenge would be to eat whole foods, nothing packaged or canned for at least 4 days out of the week. What a great giveaway!
I love snap pea crisps!
My challenge would be to do 30 burpees a day for 1 month!
Oooh! I may do that! Great idea!
I love crock pots and ours is ancient! Haha
And a good challenge can be to eat a DIFFERENT fruit and veggie everyday. Some people don’t have a problem getting their fruits and veggies in but they eat the same ones over and over. Give the body a lite variety!
I am guilty of this! My mains are broccoli, carrots, cantaloupe, bananas and apples!
that’s like my exact list too! when i’m at the store i always try to pick up something different. like a pear for an apple and now that it’s peach season i hope to get some more peaches in! i just like what i like ya know? haha.

Buses make me carsick anymore, too. Hope the field trip is fun!

It was lots of fun, but very tiring! I didn’t get too car sick.. which was great!
A challenge would be to take 15 minutes everyday to STRETCH! I often forget about stretching and sometimes never do.
Brittany @ GOtheXtraMile recently posted..What I Ate Wed
Stretching is SO key. I always feel to pressed for time to do it. but 15 minutes.. come on.. how can I not have 15 minutes to spare?! I am just making excuses.
Field trips as a kid were always such a blast that its easy to forget about the poor teacher that had to corral us
Love those TJ edamame crackers!

Hahah! Yes, I loved field trips as a student.. but currently.. I have a TOTALLY different perspective of them. It feel like I worked a whole week in one day (tired-wise anyway!) But the kids had SO much fun, so its worth it!
Well I don’t know about other people, but something that I would find challenging would be to spend at LEAST half an hour foam rolling for 30 days straight! That, and a 2 minute plank-a-day!
It would certainly help loosen up muscles! My foam roller is basically collecting dust in the corner right now! haha
Love the giveaway!
I think a great challenge would be to take a walk everyday at lunch.
Matt @ The Athlete’s Plate recently posted..#PhotoADayMay: Technology
Great idea! It would be great for people who are bound to their desk for more of the day – especially! I get to walk around a lot every day – which ends up working out great since I only have a 20 minute lunch break!
Great giveaway lady! I think a helpful and new challenge would be too STRETCH for about 10 minutes each day! Or after tough workouts at the very least! I know this is something I must work on myself
Tessa @ Amazing Asset recently posted..WIAW- Still Dictating My Mood
Ugh. I NEED to stretch more. Lately I’ve been so tight.. and even though I KNOW this.. I still am ready to end my workout right after my cardio and/or lifting. I had a good stretch of stretching going on (ha) for a while.. but then it disappeared.
I love those edamame crackers from TJs…well, actually, I love anything from TJs. I have yet to try the carrot juice…thanks for the mini review! You have some lucky students if you bring them snicker doodle muffins!
Shelby (everydayvegangirl) recently posted..Sweet eats, some new drinks and What I Ate Wednesday
They LOVED the muffins! And you are right.. just about EVERYTHING at TJs is awesome
Try 1 different healthy recipe for 7 days or if you’re ambitious 30 days.
What an awesome challenge! That would surely be a way to mix up your diet too – get out of any food ruts!!
To drink 8ounces of water a day!
I have yet to try the carrot juice…thanks for the mini review! I am looking forward for more awesome blog.

Thanks for the info on the carrot juice. If I had to suggest a healthy challenge, it would be to get “accidental exercise” every day for a month. Accidental exercise would be taking the stairs instead of the elevator, parking in the furthest parking space from the entrance, etc.
Kimberly recently posted..Little Eyes are Watching, Little Ears are Listening
I love your challenge idea! I usually take stairs instead of the elevator – but I NEVER park far away. I will search for spots close up.. which is odd because I run miles at a time! I should start doing that though!
I too am guilty of parking as clsoe to the front as possible. I think it is just human instinct.
Kimberly recently posted..Little Eyes are Watching, Little Ears are Listening
I’ve never cooked in a crock pot before!
Jocelyn @ Peace Love Nutrition recently posted..5 Bad Excuses for Not Exercising…
Challenge:
Do as many push-ups as possible, 1 set, every day for a month.
I bet we would all be surprised at how many we can get after 30 days!
Carrot juice is a bit rough straight up…. Im in hooked on trader joes purple carrot beet juice blend! Its not refrigerated and a killer deal- and delish!
I would love a slow cooker! I think a great healthy challenge would be to restock a desktop fruit bowl every monday,(for 3weeks since studies say it takes 3wks to form a habit) as well as replenishing healthy work snack choices so there is always a non vending machine option or fresh fruit vs the leftover cookies free in the kitchen…
What a perfect giveaway! My challenge would be to drink 8/12 fl oz a day.. talk about a great and healthy challenge! (:

i think a good fitness challenge would be to work your way up to being able to do 100 pushups (or 50 depending on how many you’re able to do to begin with)

I would like to see a low sugar or no sugar challenge.
great giveaway!
aww sorry to hear about your ulcers – i find carrots too much, maybe juice some spinach or kale to add in.
I would use SlimKicker for my marathon training… help to keep me focused
I’ve never tried carrot juice, but as someone with a sweet-tooth now I want to give it a try.
As a challenge, I’d like to see more people my age (young 20s) making their own food from scratch (not frozen or takeout) so many young people don’t know how simple it can be to make something for your self and it pays for itself in both nutrients and basic cost.
