Snowy Pumpkins

by Cait @ Beyond Bananas on October 29, 2011

In case you didn’t know.. it is October 29th.  Apparently, the weather masters do not care about this.

That’s right. My boy Al is going to sprinkle some snow on CT today. And by sprinkle.. I mean anywhere form 3 inches.. to more than 12 inches. MORE THEN 12 INCHES. Not quite ready for this.  Especially not on a weekend.. because weekends do not allow for snow days.

Last night was one of those nights where you could not have paid me to get my butt off the couch. But I did have fun looking up some crazy pumpkin ideas!!

Spiderman…  Honestly, how long do you think this one took to do?

And a personal favorite… the candy-corn pumpkins!

Which one is your favorite?

What is the most creative thing you’ve ever done with a pumpkin?  My brother and I would always use the stencils.. where you would dot out a template.. and then cut it.. so the end result was super cool.  Michael was AWESOME at the really intricate ones. I tended to chose the more simple ones!

I think I’d just go candy corn style and paint it haha. Seriously…that spiderman one…how the hell do you carve that close to over spots and NOT break the pumpkin?!? That person has mad talent haha

Spiderman…holy cow. That takes some patience.

And in Colorado, our first snow is always in October. :-) We’ve had it twice already!

Wow that spiderman one is rather impressive! I was so so bad at carving pumpkins, my eyes were different sizes, the mouth was going askew… my mom had to help me lol

I didn’t realize that winter storms got names. Chalk that up to living in the south.

I’ve seen a picture on fb of a pumpkin giving birth. That one actually kind of freaks me out.*

These pumpkin photos are great! It’s amazing how creative people can get. My husband did a “puking pumpkin” this year – how mature of him, right? ;) I usually don’t have the patience to do anything too crazy, so mine are usually a traditional looking jack-o-lantern.

Its still snowing here! I love when you take a drill and make tons of little holes in the pumpkin and fill it with christmas lights that stick out of the holes!
