I successfully knocked EVERYTHING off of the agenda I set out for myself this morning!
6 miles. CHECK.

Not the best 6 miles. And not a great way to start my series of long runs in my Half Marathon training.
At about 2 miles – I started getting a terrible pain in my right calf. But not really in the calf. On the outside. I stopped and stretched – but had a really hard time finding a stretch that actually hit the spot where I was hurting.

Regardless – I was able to make the pain decrease considerably and was back on my way.
I finished my run in 52:12 – with an average pace of 8:41
- Mile 1: 9:08
- Mile 2: 8:59
- Mile 3: 8:47
- Mile 4: 8:46
- Mile 5: 8:25
- Mile 6: 8:05
Nice deal on the negative splits – and my leg felt decent for the run. When I came home I iced it. And it felt a million times worse when I finished.
I hobbled around to complete the rest of my to do list and am hoping the tightness goes away ASAP! (I am wondering if I pushed a little too hard in Yoga yesterday. It’s been a while and maybe I was to down with my downward doggie?!)
Car wash. CHECK!

Hi iPhone. You are fun to play with..

What a good helper! (Except he put my mats through the shampoo thing instead of the vacuum thing..)
First time my car has been washed in a very long time. I’ve cleaned the inside many a times – but the outside – not so much.
The only negative – I could see all the stupid DINGS that have magically appeared on my car. Joys of living in a condo with lot parking. WAAAH.
Donate clothes. CHECK

And take a look at that – Susan G. Komen. The same fine lady who organized the 3-day. (have you watched my video yet?!) And yes - there as a WHOLE second bag of donations. I went through my shoe collection before leaving.
Weekly Grocery Shopping andTrader Joe’s/Whole Foods Pit Stop. CHECK

TJs and WF was mainly to pick up some natural ginger-ale for the bro — and more sunflower seed butter for my tummy (and some cookies). We got our weekly goods at S&S.
Fro-Yo Date. CHECK

This afternoon, I went to a local frozen yogurt shop called Top This. Um – HELLO!? How did I NOT know there was a self-serve fro-yo place 10 minutes from my house?! Apparently I have been living under a rock!
While it was a little pricey – and lacking flavor options – it was still a pretty fascinating find and I will visit again…SOON. (I am still excited for 16 Handles to open!!)

And who do I have to thank for this find?! Why, the lovely Kaitlin of course!!

Loved meeting my training partner for our Half Marathon in October. We chatted for about an hour – getting to know each other and all that good stuff – talking little about our training. (She’s freakin’ awesome btw… spent 3 months in South Africa wokring in a school and in a shelter for abused children..) We did set up a running date for next Saturday morning though! It will be the first time I’ve run with another person … EVER.
Upon returning home, I had a WONDERFUL idea.
Idea: Ask Justin to go to the pet store and take a little gander at puppies.
Motive: Make Justin fall in love with a puppy. Purchase a puppy. Rejoice.
Outcome: Despite my pleading – and my best puppy dog eyes and face… Justin stood firm with “NO”. Wahhh. (And would you believe that there were signs EVERYWHERE that said.. no photographs. SERIOUSLY?! WTF?! Don’t they KNOW I have a blog?! ugh)
Sunflower Seed Butter Cookies and in the oven creating a lovely aroma as we speak! CHECK!
Tell me something you checked off of your to do list today!!

I did my shopping today too! I love WF
If only it didn’t burn such a large whole in my pocket!!
Sounds like you had a very productive Saturday! I love being productive. It’s a good feeling to have everything crossed off your to do list. I hope your leg feels better. I’d definitely ice it often and take a couple days off from running to avoid a serious injury. At the gym the other day, I read something about how resting at the onset of an injury shortens recovery drastically as opposed to ignoring it and being out of commission for weeks! Awwww…I hope Justin lets you get a puppy. Is there a certain type of dog he likes? You can compromise. Or adopt an adult dog that is trained. You give a dog a home and don’t have to deal with puppy pee and puppy chewed furniture.

I think he will eventually. I grew up with dogs and he didn’t – so it has been a big adjustment for me to learn to live without a dog (while not having dog hair everywhere is kind of nice, I must admit). Adopting an adult dog is something we’ve talked about too – as it might be easier with both of us working. Hopefully we’d find one that is semi-trained – and it wouldn’t be as difficult for us!
WOW so impressive that you endured the leg pain and finished the 6 miles anyway, Cait! And that’s awesome that you have a training partner — how motivating. Good luck with all the training, and I hope your leg feels all better soon! I crossed body pump off my to-do list today. Woo-hoo love that class!

Sitting and having coffee is a crucial element to ANY day that is set to be productive!

I looooove getting things done! Sometimes when I make to-do lists, I’ll put the most mundane things on there like “brush teeth”… “make breakfast”… just so I can have the pleasure of crossing them out
My day has just begun, so really the only thing I’ve accomplished so far is “make breakfast” lol, but hopefully I’ll get more done before the sun goes down

I am a huge fan of lists too. I make them so I know WHAT I have to do – but then I usually ignore them and keep it in my head…which often leads me to forgetting many things!!
Good luck getting lots more done today!
WOW nice morning! I try the puppy pleading and faces about 3x/day and it still hasn’t worked…. which may be a result of our non-dog friendly/big enough for a labrador apartment… but still! We’ll get them someday!
I neeeed to do some grocery shopping for the week today too!
Nice negative splits!!
